The Spicy Olive to Resume In Person Wine Tasting! July 3, 2020

The Spicy Olive will resume in person wine tastings this Friday, July 3, 2020. We ask that customers who wish to join us call the store for a reservation slot, 4-5pm, 5-6pm or 6-7pm (513-847-4397). We are limiting the number of people in the store due to COVID restrictions and to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. We also ask that you social distance while enjoying your wine selections. We have missed our weekly tastings and look forward to welcoming you back!

We will hold in store tastings on the weekends we do not have Virtual Tastings scheduled and ask that you call for reservations, and more information on what we will be tasting.

The Spicy Olive’s 7th Virtual Wine Tasting is Saturday, July 11th at 5:30. Globe-trotting winemaker, Charles Bieler, will be leading us through four of his wines made in Aix-en-Provence, Cotes-du-Rhone Villages, Cotes Catalanes, and Yakima Valley.
 
 You may call ahead for curbside pick up or come in to The Spicy Olive to get the wines prior to the event so you can taste along with Charles; we will be able to deliver the wines if you prefer. You can sign in to Zoom to join Charles, Chris, Melanie, and anyone else participating as we taste through the four wines on a live, interactive web conference. Summer Sippers with The Spicy Olive

Melanie shared The Spicy Olive’s recipe for delicious and refreshing summer drinks on The Living Dayton Show. Any of our white balsamic vinegars can be used in cocktails. Melanie made a Skinny Pina Colada using our Golden Pineapple white balsamic vinegars with Coconut flavored sparkling water, all the taste of a Pina Colada minus the  the cream, sugar or calories. She also demoed a Sicilian Lemon Sipper using our Sicilian Lemon balsamic, sparkling water and a slice of lemon for garnish. Other options for Summer Sippers include the Spicy Olive’s Key Lime, Cara Cara Orange Vanilla, Grapefruit, Cascadian Raspberry  or  Cranberry Pear balsamic vinegars. Another great idea to try is adding our Honey Ginger white balsamic vinegar to a Moscow Mule! There are endless options for delicious, low calorie, low sugar summer drinks at The Spicy Olive. If you want to make the drink an adult version, simply add vodka or rum.

The Spicy Olive’s Virtual Wine Tastings are becoming quite a phenomenon. According to Ohio’s largest Wine Distributor, our Daou Vineyards Virtual Tasting with Fred Dame was the most successful event of its kind in Ohio; not just for Daou Vineyards, but for any of the hundreds of wineries they represent. YOU have made this happen with your enthusiastic participation and purchases of the fine wines our presenters own and/or make, or represent. Our next Virtual Wine Tasting is a little more than a week away. On Saturday, June 13th at 5:30, we will be tasting wines from Sean Minor Winery in California. Sean’s Vice President of Sales, Larry Soble, will guide us through Sean’s “Four Bears” Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, and Nicole Marie Red.
